Bronco Jim's Background & Experience

Bronco Jim has been a Country Western Disc Jockey for 30 years in the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, & New York area. He spent 10 years traveling with the Tim Gillis Band, NJ's leading Country-Dance Band, as the band's Mobile Disc Jockey. In that time he worked 5 Years at the Yellow Rose in Manville, NJ as the weekend Disc Jockey and 2 years as the Assistant Manager. He also worked 2 years at the Midnight Rose in Quakertown, PA as the Disc Jockey on Wednesdays & Thursdays. Working with Tim Gillis led to 5 Country Cruises with the Cunard Cruise Line. 1 Cruise was on the Queen Elizabeth 2 in Canadian waters, and 4 Cruises were on the Countess in the Caribbean. He also participated in plenty of Dance Weekends held at various resorts such as The Pines, The Fallsview, The Granite, The Mt. Laurel, The Inn at Reading, The Hilton in Cherry Hill & the Villa Roma Resort.

Bronco Jim left the Midnight Rose and starting working as the Disc Jockey at the Country Dance Barn in Hamilton, NJ working a couple of nights a week there. Not long after he became the House Disc Jockey. This was around the time that Bronco Jim & Jane R. got together and Jane R. became one of the dance instructors at the Country Dance Barn. They remained at the Country Dance Barn for 4 years. Then Bronco Jim & Jane R. relocated to the Hightstown Ballroom in Hightstown, NJ and started doing Country Dancing on Wednesday & Saturday Nights for the next 4 years.

Bronco Jim & Jane R. have done a few things in Pennsylvania. They worked at Stoudt's in Adamstown, PA for 1 1/2 years which had Country Dancing on Friday Nights, with Bronco Jim & Jane R. being one of three DJ's/Instructors. He & Jane R. also have done dances at some of the local Firehouses in the Pennsylvania area. For a short time they did Thursday Nights at the Bearcreek Ski & Recreation facility in Macungie, PA.

Bronco Jim ran a trip and took 160 people to the Bahamas in Feb 1998 with Scooter Lee, the most popular entertainer with the line dancers. Fellow DJ's & Instructors Jane R., Boot Scootin' Slim & Pam, Kevin & Cindy, DJ Bobby Piccone, & Steve & Nanci Knapp were staff members for the trip and taught lessons and entertained the folks.

Bronco Jim & Jane R. were invited by Scooter Lee to participate in the Dancing For The Dream Foundation Event at the Senior Olympics in 2003 in Virginia Beach, Va. along with Barry & Dari Anne Amato, Jo Thompson, Joanne Brady, Rosie & Bruno Multari, Ro & Fred Lord, Wanda & Jim York and many other instructors.

Bronco Jim was one of the Country DJs at Montana West, Quakertown, Pa. for 8 years, the Head DJ for 6 of those years. Montana West was one of the nicest nightclubs in the area and after 9 years in September 2010 it has closed the doors !!

Bronco Jim worked as the DJ at the Wonderland Castle in Quakertown, Pa from January 2013 to May 2013. It was located where Montana West used to be. It was a Family Entertainment Center that was doing Country Dancing on Wednesday and Saturday Nights. Beverly D'Angelo was the Lead Dance Instructor teaching on Saturday Nights. Wednesdays Nights had Dance Instructors Michael Diven and Peggy Sue Tobias following a rotating schedule setup by Beverly.

Bronco Jim has worked with quite a few Dance Instructors and Bands and has a very good working knowledge of Country Music & Country Dancing.
